PROGRAMS KEEPING YOU INVOLVED IN YOUR CHILD'S EDUCATION

We view parents, guardians, and family members as equal partners in the education of children, and we invite you to become a part of our classrooms and programs.

We welcome families from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and we firmly believe that supporting families is essential to child development.  We view parents, guardians, and family members as equal partners in the education of children, and we invite you to become a part of our classrooms and programs.

The FACET Program

KCC supports families through the Family and Centers Empowered Together (FACET) Program. FACET is a family engagement, family support, and empowerment program funded by the Delaware Division of Prevention and Behavioral Health. KCC is one of five FACET programs in the state, and a FACET worker provides case management services and family engagement activities on-site.

Parent Council

Parents and family members are invited to join KCC’s Parent Council. With the support of KCC’s FACET worker, the Parent Council plans and implements parent engagement activities and makes recommendations for supportive services offered. The Parent Council also serves as the ECAP Policy Council, approving policies for the ELA and giving parents a role in program governance.

Child Protection Policy

At KCC, our goal is to provide an atmosphere for children to safely flourish while in our care. We take pride in our ongoing efforts to improve our services to young people and their families. The primary responsibility to keep children safe rests with adults.

KCC takes the protection of youth in our care very seriously. It is at the root of the work we do. This policy is intended to provide multiple layers of protection for children and families we serve.  The policy covers all the things we believe are critical to keeping children safe from abuse: the screening/hiring process, our code of conduct, the physical and virtual environment of our organization, and the training and educational programs for our employees, mentors, volunteers, families, and children.

KCC partnered with the Beau Biden Foundation’s Shield of Protection Program to create a comprehensive Child Protection Policy.  Support for this initiative was provided by the Laffey McHugh-Foundation.
